After the release of the revolutionary LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier in late 2020, LG Electronics Indonesia (LG) has launched the latest generation of the device, retaining its flagship HEPA filter feature and adding a long list of improvements over the previous model.
"When the first model became a revolutionary project, its next generation offers a slew of improvements that will increase breathing comfort and ease of speaking in long-term use," says LG Electronics Indonesia President Lee Taejin.
Available in black or white, the latest generation of LG's wearable air purifier retains the HEPA filter technology from the previous generation, which is highly effective in filtering airborne bacteria, viruses and allergens. The technology has been tested and verified by the TÜV Rheinland technical testing organization in South Korea.
With the common complaint of breathing difficulty when wearing masks in mind, the device is equipped with a dual fan system working in conjunction with a breath sensor that detects airflow as users inhale. It features three fan speeds that can be manually adjusted to the users' activity, such as fast-paced exercising that requires a faster airflow.
A smaller and more silent motor for the dual fans allows LG's second generation of wearable air purifier to weigh 94 grams, while the 1,000 mAh battery can be used for up to eight hours before needing another charge.
According to LG Electronics Indonesia air solutions product director Changmin Han, the patented dual fan system allows airflow to automatically adjust to the wearer's breathing patterns as they move from one activity to another.
"From sitting down or having a walk to exercising, users will not have to worry about breathing difficulty as the device will adjust according to their activities," he said.

Compared to the previous model, LG's latest wearable air purifier is much more svelte in its dimensions, with ergonomic curves that minimize sharp angles on its surface.
The VoiceON feature uses an integrated microphone and speaker, which can be activated with a button located on the bottom side of the device. In active mode, VoiceON will automatically detect the user's speech, while at the same time amplifying the volume through the speakers.
LG's attention to user comfort for the latest generation of the LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier is also apparent in its development of a special application for iOS and Android phones. In its final stages of development, the app connects the device to the users' phone via Bluetooth, enabling them to view their breathing patterns as well as real-time device metrics, such as battery life and reminders on HEPA filter lifespans.
Along with the HEPA filter, LG also retains the removable medical-grade silicone face guard that provides safety in usage as well as reduces the possibility of allergic reactions. The face guard and ear loop can be washed with water, while the HEPA filter will require periodic replacement to ensure top performance in reducing device humidity and filtering dangerous airborne particles.
The LG PuriCare Wearable Air Purifier retails for Rp 2,499,000 and is available for purchase in major electronics stores and LG official stores on e-commerce platforms. Inside the box, the device comes with two HEPA filters and 15 inner filters, as well as an ear loop, face guard, charging cable, and pouch.
